Getting started
Mirror runs on iPhone with iOS 17 or later; there is no Android, iPad, or web version yet. Setup is short, and it does ask you to sign in — with Apple, Google, or an email address. That identity is what carries your subscription and keeps your devices in step; it is not where your spending is kept. Your entries live on the phone and sync through your own iCloud, which we cannot read.
Does Mirror connect to my bank?
No. Mirror has no bank connection and never asks for banking credentials. You record what you spend yourself, on the keypad — amount, category, save. That is a deliberate choice: it is the reason your financial entries never touch a server we operate, and the reason Mirror works the same in every country.
The same applies to savings goals. Mirror keeps a record of what you set aside; it never moves money. Your money stays in your own accounts.
How does sync work?
Through your own iCloud — not a Mirror account, and not Google. Every device signed in to the same Apple ID with iCloud Drive enabled sees the same entries, and the data sits in your private iCloud database where we cannot read it.
If a new device looks empty, work down this list:
- Both devices are signed in to the same Apple ID.
- iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → iCloud Drive is on, with Mirror allowed.
- The device has a working connection — the first sync pulls everything at once and can take a minute.
- Force-quit Mirror and reopen it. If entries are still missing after a few minutes, email us with both device models and we will dig in.
Subscriptions, trials, and refunds
Mirror Premium is $39.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, or $4.99 a month with no trial. Prices vary by region; the App Store shows yours before you buy.
- Restore a purchase (new phone, reinstall): Settings → Mirror Premium → Restore Purchases. Use the Apple ID you originally bought with.
- Cancel: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Mirror → Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, or it renews. Cancelling during the trial costs you nothing.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can help you understand a charge, but we cannot issue an App Store refund.
A trial that looks wrong is usually eligibility: Apple grants one free trial per subscription group per Apple ID, so if you have subscribed to Mirror before, the trial will not be offered again.
Turning off AI reflections
Some reflections are written by an AI model from an anonymous statistical summary — counts, percentages, and your score, never amounts, dates, merchants, or notes. Those reflections are labelled AI in the app.
To switch it off: Settings → Privacy & Data → Privacy → AI Reflections. Nothing is sent from then on, and Mirror composes your reflections on your device instead. The Privacy Policy spells out exactly what the summary contains.
Deleting your data
Both options live in Settings → Privacy & Data → Privacy:
- Delete All Data clears your entries from the device and your iCloud database, and leaves the app installed and ready to start over.
- Delete Account removes the account along with the data.
Both are immediate and cannot be undone — there is no copy on our side to restore from. Deleting your data does not cancel your subscription; cancel that separately in your Apple ID settings.
Something is broken, or missing
Send it from inside the app — Settings → Support → Send Feedback — which reaches us with your app version attached, or email mymirrortracker@gmail.com directly. Bug reports get more useful with a screenshot and what you were doing at the time. Feature requests are read; the ones that fit Mirror's calm-by-default idea get built.
